Affiliate disclosure
Draft. 1 placeholder(s) still to fill.
URL: /affiliate-disclosure/ · Nav: footer · Plus a short inline banner on every page carrying links
The inline version matters more than this page. The FTC’s position is that a disclosure must be clear, conspicuous, and near the recommendation — not buried in a footer link. Put the short version above the first affiliate link on the page, in normal-sized readable text, not greyed-out fine print.
Short version — place above the first affiliate link on any page
Some links on this page are affiliate links, which means this site may earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. Commissions never influence what gets recommended here — how that works.

Affiliate disclosure
The plain version
Some pages on this site contain affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, this site may receive a small commission from the retailer. It costs you nothing extra.
That is how this site is funded, and you should know it when you read a recommendation.
Commissions never move a verdict
This is the part that matters, and it is the whole reason this site exists rather than another one.
A product’s commission has no bearing on whether it is recommended, or on the conclusion an article reaches. When the evidence says a product doesn’t work, that is what gets published, including for products with generous affiliate programs — and there have been and will be cases where honesty here costs real money. That is not a sacrifice; it is the entire value proposition. A recommendation you can’t trust is worth nothing to you and, eventually, nothing to me.
If you ever have reason to think a commercial relationship has influenced something published here, say so directly. That mail will be answered.
Where you will not find affiliate links
No page about end-of-life, euthanasia, grief, or pet loss carries display advertising or aggressive affiliate promotion. Those pages exist for people having one of the worst days of their lives, and monetising that moment is not something this site will do.
Where such a page mentions a service — an in-home hospice provider, a memorial maker — it is because it is genuinely worth knowing about, the mention is labelled, and any commercial relationship is stated on the page itself.
Current affiliate relationships
- [Chewy] — [pet retail; commission on qualifying purchases]
- [Amazon Associates] — As an Amazon Associate, this site earns from qualifying purchases.
- [ADD EACH PROGRAMME AS YOU JOIN. Keep this list current — an out-of-date disclosure list is a real compliance problem, not a cosmetic one.]
Sponsorship and paid content
[IF NONE YET: “This site currently accepts no sponsorship or paid placements. If that changes, sponsored content will be clearly labelled as sponsored, will never appear on end-of-life or grief pages, and will never be presented as an editorial recommendation.”]
Products received free
Where a product is received free for testing, that is stated on the page. Receiving a product creates no obligation to review it favourably, or to review it at all.
